in light of things

Sun Sep 13, 2009, 1:13 PM
so this girl was murdered a couple days ago
I never knew her
I really have no right to be writing anything about her
but it's hard to not be affected
she was a 20 year old art studen
not very much unlike myself, or any of us for that matter
it makes one selfishly start to think about their own mortality
looking at her gallery you see that bit of her life until the end
her last submitted piece
makes you think
what will your last drawing be?
how many more will you make before you die?
in a sense it makes me thankful
thankful like I am every day to be an artist
she may be gone but she left her mark
even if she never got to be famous
if her work never reaches fame on its own
she still left that part of herself
where anyone can go and visit
inevitably people will continue to come across her stuff
whether searching or just browsing
she'll more than likely get more favorites
maybe even more unknowing watchers
we all know that no one is ever really gone
but artists especially

I'm not making an attempt at being poetic or deep or philosophical
in fact, this was never meant for you. I wrote this more for me
for my own memory. Sure I could have posted it private on LJ
but I was on DA; it was most accessible
but maybe you could benefit from this too

sweet dreams :iconflutterby727:
